Books Teachers Love: The Ugly Pumpkin
Happy FALL! I wish wish wish we had fall weather here in Southern California, but hopefully soon! We are back for a new set of BOOKS TEACHERS LOVE! Let’s talk about “The Ugly Pumpkin”…

If you are joining us for the first time, you should definitely check out previous months:

Let’s talk about books for November!
My book this month is The Ugly Pumpkin by Dave Horowitz {amazon affiliate link}.

A sweet story about a little “pumpkin” that doesn’t get picked up for Halloween and makes his way into November all alone. He will later find out something that will change everything for him!
This is one of my FAVORITE fall stories! Perfect for the transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving.

In class, we use it to talk about our uniqueness, learning to love ourselves, learning to accept others, and also to be thankful!
I love to use it for story elements, sequencing, and character traits.
