**********
After reflecting over my first year in first grade and reflecting over the fact that I STRUGGLED through new math curriculum, I realized my students really really REALLY need help with missing addends! So I created some quick checks/quizzes that we can practice as a whole and in centers!
There are several ways you can use this in your classroom.
You can time your students {when I do timed tests, especially in 1st grade, I give them A TON of time to start with to build confidence, like 2 minutes}.
I like to laminate quick facts like this and place them in centers. I give them a sand timer {affiliate link} and they time themselves 🙂 They LOVE it.
There are 50 quick checks in all! Each number {1-10} has 5 checks.
Click on the image below to save it and then get started on making your MASTERPIECE!

I did something similar to this when I taught First Grade! I love your idea of having them complete during centers AND keeping the strips small. This is definitely a skill that many First Grade kiddos struggle with!
That IS such a hard thing for kiddos to grasp! They still struggle with just knowing their facts, and then to have to turn around their thinking and figure out a missing addend is so tough. This looks like an awesome product. 2nd grade math is where my heart is – but I am moving to 4th grade this year!!! BTW – thanks so much for helping host these challenges. I have been trying like CRAZY to link up with other bloggers and feel "in." If you are going to Vegas, I hope I come across ya!
I love this Jen!!! It is perfect because the kids need SO MUCH practice with this! Thanks again for hosting this challenge! It has been so inspiring! Moore to Learn
Jen, this packet looks great and just what they need to practice these skills! I love the size of the paper that allows for quick and easy practice. Thanks for hosting this challenge. I have loved completing each week and connecting with fellow bloggers who are doing the same. Have a great weekend!
Missing addends are such a hard concept for kids to get. Your packet looks great! Thanks for hosting this challenge. It's really fun! Chrissy First Grade Found Me

I love the idea of using a sand timer in the centers. These days my middler schoolers all want to use their phone but this is better! 🙂
