Looking to bring hands-on science back into your classroom? KiwiCo has you covered with their STEM crates! These crates can be used inside and outside of the classroom for hands-on science and are teacher-verified!
KiwiCo sent me a few sample boxes to share (but my review is my opinion). These crates can easily be aligned to standards that you are teaching in your classroom.
Window Garden (3+ years old/grades k-2+)
For life cycles and plant studies, this crate is perfect, you can see everything comes prepackaged making it simple for each student (and teacher-free assembly). The printed packet has instructions, observation sheets, and more to extend the learning in the box.
Walking Robot (9+/grades 3+)
This specific box is called a Tinker Crate, fun to explore STEM themes and it includes a mini magazine on the subject of the box!
Light Up Speaker (12+/grades 6+)
The light up speaker box might be a fun small group activity or family activity. Lots of small parts and lots of thinking involved!
One of my favorite parts of the KiwiCo website…KiwiCo now has aligned boxes to NGSS. Which means if you’re looking for a specific standards-based box, they have you covered. This makes it so simple to implement theses boxes into your classroom.
You can get one box, a class set of boxes, a subscription of boxes…KiwiCo makes it easy to find an option that fits you. KiwiCo also takes purchase orders, so purchasing through your school is a breeze. These hands-on science kits can work for at home, in-school, or hybrid learning.
I have used their toddler boxes too for my 2 year old (the panda box)! Any boxes that are curated through KiwiCo are high quality, learning focused, and engaging. I would recommend these crates to anyone looking for hands-on science for their own kids or classroom students.
