Happy Friday! Let the Christmas Break Countdown begin!
14 school days!
Gear up for chaos…
Here’s my week in pictures!
If you want a good laugh at my expense…read this…
I was cranky last Sunday coming off Thanksgiving break. I felt my only solution was to explain why I’m a terrible fiancée. HA It was fun and sadly, waaaaay too easy!
It’s the season for gift giving and love!
I decided this year {with the idea of one of my fabulous coworkers} that I would give books for Christmas {oh, I mean “holidays”}.
“Well, that sounds expensive,” you may say. But my brilliant first grade buddy showed me the ropes!
Scholastic Book Club has “Birthday Book Coupons”! One free book for each child’s birthday! But I used them all at once for Christmas 🙂
I had all the kids circle a couple $5 and under books they liked in that latest flyer.
I got to choose which one I wanted to get them from there!
Gotta love a big red box 🙂
A box full of books!
Obviously I labeled them all & wrapped them.
I can’t wait for our party!
This is my first year with “Elf on the Shelf” and we are having SO much fun!
Alexis the Elf has been up to a lot this week…
I can’t wait to see what she does next!
One of my parents works for Starbucks. She has kept me quite comfortable with weekly treats and pre-filled out “Buy 5 Get One Free”s {shhh don’t tell!}!
Gotta get my Starbucks fix somehow {at least I’m not spending all MY money on it :)}!!
I went with my coworker to the Scholastic Warehouse Sale!
Everything was 50% off! I loaded up on a few favorites & newbies.
& I have the sweetest coworker! She bought me a “future Mrs.” stamp! I obviously stamped all my new books from the sale with it 🙂
I got my kiddos those birthday coupons for Christmas as well – I am just giving them the coupons in a card, but that was a great idea to get the books ahead of time – wish I saw this post sooner!
I did the same exact thing with the birthday coupons!! I had each student pick out the book that wanted that was $5 or under and then I'm going to give them wrapped up on our last day before Christmas break 🙂
That way they get some say in the books instead of just buying all of them the same one!
I have used scholastic for years and sad to say that I have never come across the birthday coupons? Where did you get them? Are they online? Are they really free or are you paying for the coupon? (Please email if you can mrslauravuong@gmail.com)
The birthday coupons are in the first few months of the school year Sept/Oct. It is $25 for 24, so it works out to be about $1 a book 🙂 I bought them through the online scholastic through my teacher account.

Yay! I do the same 🙂 I gave them a few options and I got to pick the final one so they don't know which one they are actually getting!
