Each month we have a “Spirit Day” at school where the kids can dress up in a theme. This month’s Spirit Day was “College Wear Day”! I guess living in So. Cal & working in between UCLA & USC brings some serious rivalries š
2. Growing Seeds
In 2nd grade, we learn about the variations and life cycles of plants {which elementary grade doesn’t study plant life cycles??}. We don’t have the space or means to plant full plants, so we do a quick grow! The kids go wild for this easy little project. All you need is a ziplock bag, a wet paper towel, and a bean. We used lima beans and they are HUGE! We wrap out beans in the wet paper towel, zip it up in the bag, and clip it near the window to get some sun. We let them sit for a couple days and they began to sprout! All my kids were begging to take them home to plant š We left them a few more days, let’s see what happens!
3. Visualizing
We took some time today to open up the new unit called “Let’s Explore”. We will read stories about nature: trees, bugs, rocks. We talked about how we can read or listening and then create a picture in our minds. We listened to a story and they got to draw what they heard. It was amazing to see some of their drawings! {this story was about a tree becoming a log and the log becoming a part of the earth to grow new trees- life cycle!}
4. TpT
I finally joined the family! Got myself a TpT store š Check it out! I’m running a sale that ends tonight!
5. Celebrity?
I had a parent help me out with something and apparently he was ripping out decodables at work-on his Soap Opera. The best part is that they are a wonderful family!
