Get to know me and my blog! I’m linking up with I {heart} Recess today because I’m a “Budding Blog”.
{Why did you start blogging?}
I have been stalking exploring the teacher blogs for about a year. I really wanted to get in on the action. I started my blog to share and gain some ideas from all around {I just started April 14th}. It inspired me to be better in my classroom as well. If everyone’s looking at what I’m doing, I’d better be doing a good job right!? It has been so much fun so far getting to know all the other teachers and learning from them.
{What’s my favorite subject to teach and why?}
My favorite subject to teach is math. I love how there are so many hands-on ideas that can help with understanding a subject that is tainted as being “hard”. My kids always like to “challenge themselves” with the “harder” or “third grade” problems. I also love how math doesn’t end, if the kids get it, you can go deeper and teach them more about the subject. &&& usually in math (at least on the 2nd grade level) there is always ONE right answer 🙂
{Describe your teacher style}
What a loaded question! I am coming into my own these days. I’m student-centered and like the kiddies to explore things on their own and come to their own conclusions. I love all things crafty and hands-on. Building, cutting, sorting, creating…some of my favorite words. I want the students to discover how to do things by themselves with me as a guide. I also ADORE technology! I am all for iPads, iPods, online work, googledocs, websites, projectors, etc. They provide such an easy entertainment and learning tool {we’ve got to keep up with the things that are entertaining them at home}.
{Give 3 interesting facts about you}
ONE–I love to travel {within the US or outside..}
TWO–I’m a lefty {as in my hand, but there was a store called “Lefties” in Spain which I thought was silly}
THREE–I’ve kissed the Blarney Stone
I’m Irish {not like “I’m so Irish I have an accent” Irish, but I do love my heritage :)}
{Do you have a TPT store?}
I have a Teachers Notebook store! Visit me 🙂
{I promise to make more items in the summer, I’m still new.}
