Curing Tattle Tongue {Behavior Books}
I know…it’s summer, who wants to think about next year’s behavior problems wild children classroom norms?
But also, who doesn’t love a book that can teach a behavior?? {and how can I resist a post on a gloomy June day?}
Frankly, I’m in love with Julia Cook’s books on student behavior & my kids are too! They can’t get enough of My Mouth is a Volcano & Personal Space Camp.

Julia Cook is great at introducing a concept and a solution!
My personal favorite is A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue {which happens to be my kiddos’ favorite too, although they don’t always follow the rules}. It is a cute book about “tattling” {which we all know we have SERIOUS problems with}, sharing with the students when it is okay to inform the teacher of something and when it is just plain annoying tattling.

There are FOUR RULES to informing the teacher…

{My favorite rule is MYOB, just because it’s fun to say and it pretty much works in EVERY situation!!}
In class I present them with problems & they have to decide if it’s tattling or if it’s important information and which rule it would go under.
I also make little “Tattle Tongues” out of tongue depressors. If a child “tattles” they have to hold on to the “Tattle Tongue” until someone else decides to tattle. They hate it/love it all at the same time 🙂

I didn’t do too much work creating things for these books because Julia Cook did all of those things already! Check out her amazing activity books for each book she has written {why reinvent the wheel?}!
Enjoy your weekend!
